The Library of Congress

On Friday, after the White House, we went on a tour of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress. Stephanie was disappointed that the reading rooms are open only to people 18 and older. We always thought the L of C had a copy of every book ever published. It doesn't, but 10,000 items are added to the collection every day!

The architecture was gorgeous.

This mosaic of Minerva is constructed out of tiny pieces of glass.

Even the floors were amazing! Can you imagine how many little pieces of tile it took to cover them?
